About Pens of Distinction

Pens of Distinction are a small business based in Glenrothes, Fife in Scotland. We're not too far (about 20 miles) from the Home of Golf, St Andrew's.

We specialise in offering a bespoke manufacturing of laser engraved wooden-barrelled pens and boxes for the corporate sector. All the fittings are 10 carat cobalt gold which is hard wearing and durable, the refills are made by Schmidt and the writing mechanism for the fountain pens are also Schmidt (a top German pen engineering company). All the timber used is from environmentally friendly and sustainable sources and this can be proved. Normally most of our timber is sourced within a 30 mile radius of Glenrothes.

We have been in business since 2001, originally part time, and since 2003 full time.

We have steadily increased our business from supplying small , local companies and organisations, (but nevertheless important)  to supplying major global businesses such as Diageo (distillers of famous whiskies such as Johnnie Walker and Cardhu, Smirnoff vodka and Guinness).

Along the way, I gained my Chain of Custody Certificate through Independent Forestry, which is endorsed by the Forest Stewardship Council as a manufacturer who only uses certified and sustainable timber- check out the environmental issues page for further information on this subject.

A few months ago we relocated to our first business premises to give us more room to move, and allow us to develop some more products.
